THE FINANCIAL PLANNING ASSOCIATION
of the GREATER HUDSON VALLEY
The home for Financial Planners in:
Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is an indispensable resource for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) Professionals. Simply put, we are the community that works together to elevate individual financial planners, regardless of practice type, and the financial planning profession as a whole. We believe true financial planners provide an invaluable, critical service to society, and that CFP® professionals lead the way in the commitment to raise the bar for the clients they serve.
WE ARE ONE CHAPTER OF A NATIONAL ORGANIZATION
Board of Directors
The President sets the direction for our organization each year. This is inclusive of recurring events such as chapter lunch and dinner meetings, Journal of Financial Planning Discussion Groups, and additional events such as investment panels, annual chapter symposium, member best practice, and case studies.
As immediate Past President and Secretary, Tom ensures a smooth transition of leadership and guidance to new board members.
The Allied Professionals committee works with the Westchester chapters of the New York State Society of CPAs and the New York Bar Association to develop interdisciplinary seminars for the three professions. An additional goal is to provide a refreshing forum to network with other professionals.
David Lasco, CFP
Director of NexGen
NexGen is a community for the next generation of financial planners in Westchester County. Connect and share ideas with new and experienced advisors, and network with the next generation of allied professionals. Past events include wine and beer tastings, happy hours, and plenty of food.
Adam Kozak, CFP
Pro Bono Director
Volunteering in our Pro Bono efforts is a valuable way for financial planners to give back to their communities. Over the years, our chapter has participated in presentations and one-on-one consultations at Westchester Community College, Pace University, and Financial Literacy Day at West Point Academy.
The Membership Director oversees membership activities by developing and implementing program initiatives and policies designed to increase, retain, and engage membership. The membership committee also creates, updates, and distributes information to current and prospective members.
Laura Medigovich, CFP
The Advocacy Director serves as a communications liaison for national and state based FPA initiatives to communicate with our legislators. Past events attended include NY State Advocacy Day in Albany, National Advocacy Day in Washington, DC, and NYC Advocacy Day.
