About The Event

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) of the Greater Hudson Valley would like to invite you to its next NexGen+ event on Tuesday, June 15th, at Stone Manor 101 in Hawthorne.

We have a private room reserved for this event and food and drink can be ordered as desired. After networking and cocktails, we will dive into the program, Maximizing the Value of 529 Plans, presented by Chris Stack, Esq., a nationally recognized 529 authority and a managing consultant with Savingforcollege.com. Click here for speaker bio.

Our Program

While many advisors feel that they are familiar with 529 plans, most are not aware of the numerous benefits that 529 plans offer. This presentation provides an overview of the rising cost of college, followed by a discussion on financial aid and the numerous benefits of 529 plans and how they can be used.

* Benefits of 529 accounts to account owners.

* Critical challenges clients face when saving for college.

* Federal gift and estate tax advantages.

* Unique estate planning strategies with 529 plans.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will (1) Understand the rules and benefits of 529 college savings plans,

(2) Understand the federal gift and estate tax advantages of 529 plans, and (3) Understand the most effective estate planning strategies with 529 plans.

Level of Complexity: Intermediate

What is NexGen+?

This event is intended to support the next generation of financial planners. By "next generation," we mean not only those that fall into the typical NexGen age group, but also CFP® students, new planners, and career transitionists of all ages... and we welcome more seasoned planners, allied professionals and educators who wish to connect with this group. No matter your age or experience - come join us to grow your network, to learn business success strategies, to discover new ways to market yourself and/or your practice, and to make meaningful connections (and have some fun).
